There’s nothing like a hot cup of chai on a cold day–or even a warm one! The delicious spices and aroma wafting from the cup remind us of home (wherever that may be). It’s so easy to brew, and there are plenty of additional flavors you can add to really make it your own.

Our (Favorite) Chai Recipe
Overview
- Serving Size: 2 cups
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 ¼ cups milk (to taste)
- 2 teabags of black tea (or 1 ½ teaspoons black tea leaves)
- 2 teaspoons of sugar (to taste)
- 2 cloves (or 1/4 teaspoon clove powder)
Optional Ingredients Instructions (to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon or a “pinch” of carom seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 2 slivers of fresh ginger
Instructions
- Combine water, tea bags, and all other ingredients (except the milk!) in a small pot
- Place on high heat and bring to a boil
- Add milk and return to a boil
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 minute
- Using a strainer, pour into 2 cups
- Enjoy!
